This weekend I ported my Arduino library for the Sharp Memory LCD breakout boards I’m selling to the Raspberry Pi. At the moment, I have the short demo running successfully although the code does need (and will be receiving) further improvement. However, it’s already great to see how smooth the demo runs on it, with […]
Here’s a short video I’ve made so that you can compare the two different types of Sharp Memory LCD side-by-side. On the left is the 128 x 128 pixel HR-TFT type and on the right is the 96 x 96 pixel PNLC version. To quote from Sharp’s own literature: Sharp’s Polymer Networked Liquid Crystal (PNLC)-type […]
Here’s a video of my demo sequence running on the large Memory LCD I’m selling. Next, I’ll be recording a side-by-side demo of the two small Memory LCDs next for the purpose of comparing the two different screen types – the PNLC of the 96 x 96 pixel display versus the HR-TFT of the 128 […]
The Memory LCD breakout boards are now for sale – see the shop page for details. I’ll be making a demo video for the 400 x 240 HR-TFT Memory LCD next.
This is the smaller of my two Memory LCD breakout boards and is designed for two different models of if Memory LCD: 96 x 96 pixel, 1.35″ Memory LCD 128 x 128 pixel, 1.28″ Memory LCD What Are Memory LCDs? Memory LCDs are the type of black & white, ultra low-power, ultra high-contrast displays used […]
Here’s a couple of videos of the small Memory LCD Breakout Board running a little demo I’ve written to show off it’s capabilities. The first video is a simple, static recording of the complete demo sequence, the second video moves the camera around in an attempt to illustrate the reflective qualities of the particular model […]
I’ve now assembled a complete example of each type of breakout board. The small board can hold either a 96×96 or a 128×128 pixel display. And the large board holds the 400×240 pixel Memory LCD. More details to follow on Sunday.
